Newbie Starter Kit: Recommended Shampoos and Cleansers

After almost 4 years as a Naturalista, I can say that I have tried a plethora of products over the years. As a person who is very adventurous with no personal preference for anything in life really, I am still experimenting with different products, product mixtures and healthy haircare practices. I guess you could say that I am still a product junkie who still hasn't simplified her "hair wardrobe" yet. I mean, why should I? There are so many great products out there which my hair would like to sample, and I will continue to sample them until I've tried them all :)

As this is a Newbie/Beginner level post, I will only be making product recommendations based on products I've used in the past and/or currently using. To learn more about these products, I suggest you check out reviews on them on various Natural and Black Haircare websites. I will also be making a detailed post which includes ingredients, price, where to find the products (in Canada) and other necessary info about each product in the near future.

Recommended Shampoos are:
- Pure African Black Soap
-Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Shampoo (reduced sulphates)
-Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk (reduced sulphates)
-Jasons Jojoba Shampoo (Sulphate Free)

Sulphate is an active cleansing ingredient which is found in all cleaning products, which includes shampoos, body wash, carpet cleaner and the like. This agent rids the hair of any dirt and debris. While this is a great thing, it can also be damaging to the hair strands as it often leaves our hair feeling dry.
Since I already have dry hair, I try to stay away from sulphate based shampoos by opting for sulphate free or reduced sulphates and moisturizing shampoos which would leave my hair feeling soft after use.

Please note that this is only a personal recommendation and so some of these products may not perform the wonders they did to my hair, although I doubt this would happen.
