Step 1 of Deep Conditioning
Because the honey (Cuban Honey) I used was very thick and so very difficult to apply, I decided to warm up the mixture a little bit in a bath of warm tap water. I also had to keep mixing the mixture because the oil kept floating on top while the honey sank at the bottom.
Application
I parted my hair in half, applied the coconut-honey mixture on the right side of my head and the olive-honey mixture on the left side. After application, I twisted my hair into 8 chunky twists and covered with a shower cap, sealed it with a serang wrap and trapped the heat in with a winter wool hat.
*This was my first time wrapping my hair with a serang wrap, I usually just wear a shower cap or plastic bag and then put on a wool hat, but since I really wanted this treatment to work, I decided to add an extra barrier for optimal results. I left the treatment in my hair for about 2hours and then rinsed it off with warm water.

Results:
Hair smelt tropically yummy and hair felt smooth and stretchy, particularly the coconut-honey side.
Step 2 of Deep Conditioning
To get the smell of honey out of my hair and actually "wash" my hair, I decided to do another deep conditioning treatment with the Shea Moisture Restorative Conditioner for Dry Hair. Also, I needed to do a proper cream based deep conditioning as part of my pre-braiding hair treatment.
After application, I wrapped my hair with the same "equipment" I used in the first step. This time, I only left the treatment in for about 50min.
Results:
My hair felt the same without any noticeable difference but i'm sure the double treatments worked "chemically".
Next time: I'll go back to my usual all-in-one treatment
I'm a lazy simple natural and so I like to keep my regimen simple. I usually mix my conditioner with select ingredients depending on what my hair needs at the time. And so I rarely do a pre-poo and post-poo double conditioning. So for my next session, i'll just do an all-in-one deep conditioning step where I add protein and moisturizing ingredients all together in my conditioner.
Also, I think i'm going to re-visit an overnight oil deep conditioning to see if it will work this time. I rarely do this treatment because the only time I have the patience to wash my hair is at night, so an overnight treatment wouldn't work for me. Also, I stopped doing this treatment because my hair wasn't any more moisturized that it was when I did a hot oil treatment for about an hour. Another reason why I stopped it is because I often have difficulties sleeping with a shower cap on my head because my scalp feels itchy as a result of a lack of air. But, i'm willing to give this popular treatment another go!
