Sunday Hair 7: Bantu Knot Out

Best Bantu Knot-Out yet

This is actually a style I did last Sunday, but was unable to post it all week.

Pre-Style
I did a co-wash/deep conditioning treatment (DCT) with Tresemme naturals vibrantly smooth conditioner mixed with honey and olive oil.

Styling
Then I put my hair into 10 Bantu knots using extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) to seal in the moisture in my hair. I didn't have my leave-in on hand so I had no choice but to use oil as the only styling product. The following day, about 11hours later, I unraveled my hair the next day and separated each coil to fluff it out, the results as you can see is a frizzy bantu-knot out. I have never achieved a great "out-style" regardless of the technique or products used and how long the interim style is kept in for.

Does your hair have issues achieving an "out style"? If so, just know that you're not alone and there are many other styles which your hair would love!

  1. Lol, I thought it was just my hair that has 'blatantly' refused to do as it's expected.

    1. yea, my hair doesn't line out styles, I don't either because my hair dries out fast and it tends to feel crunchy after a few hours, plus it shrinks too much. So I don't really mind my "frizz outs"

I keep hearing about using honey for the hair.

    1. Honey is a great humectant which draws moisture to your hair. I often use it for a really DEEP moisture treatment. You should try it :)
